SmartPoly
A conservatory is now seen as an extra room to be used 7 days a week, 365 days a year, whatever the weather. However a conservatory can become almost unusable on hot sunny days because of solar heat gain, and uncomfortably cold in winter because of heat loss. This is because up to 80% of the
sun's solar energy passes directly through a standard polycarbonate conservatory roof, creating a 'greenhouse effect' inside, rendering the room too hot for use.
SmartPoly, with its' integral solar protection, prevents up to 80% of the sun's solar energy from entering the conservatory through the roof, helping to maintain a comfortable internal temperature. The roof will also reduce glare by 80%, further increasing comfort levels in the conservatory. In winter, most of the heat lost escapes through the roof; with a SmartPoly roof, a large proportion of rising heat is radiated back into the room, helping to maintain comfortable temperatures and reducing heating costs.
Strong and durable
SmartPoly combines strength and durability with excellent thermal insulation, while the high impact resistance of the material ensures long life. An integral ultraviolet light filter prevents the polycarbonate from yellowing with age and maintains optical clarity. The micro-thin polyester solar protector is highly reflective but allows natural light to penetrate, so the conservatory remains bright and airy.
